There are lavished praises on the eyes, and in the surging tide of modern scienceand technology, people find it hard to be satisfied with traditional two-dimensionimage information, thereby there is a growth popularity of stereo images more vividand more according with human vision. Methods of generating stereoscopic image arenumerous and varied, and at present research of aid-type stereoscopic display hasentered into a mature phase. Though people are familiar with related products in themarket, there are remain a lot of inconvenience such as high price, complicatedprocedures, less comfortableness as well as great hinder of other application of that.Therefore, the research on stereoscopic display is becoming a popular field with morebroad prospects for its simple structure, low price, realization and comfortableness.This thesis mainly focuses on the grating-type stereoscopic display based on theprinciple of binocular parallax. The main contents are as follows:First, among the five major problems of stereoscopic display, the phenomenon ofcrosstalk would have the most impact on the quality of the images. Meanwhile, crossinterference is also regarded as an important indexes of stereoscopic display system.As traditional measuring method requires expensive and sophisticated opticalinstrument, intricate data processing and demanding situations, a new testing methodcomes out providing the solution to the above problems. This method uses the testpatterns of crosstalk, obtaining the estimate cross interference from matching thetesting area with brightness scale. At the same time, the best observation point can belocated according to equal brightness. Through the verification of three groups of tests,the results are shown with consistency and accuracy. In this way, this method can notonly truly describe the crosstalk of grating-type stereo display but also avoid theinfluence of changing light, thus has a very strong robustness of testing environment.Second, the real image of the stereo display refers to an image that has aprominent screen effect, while the virtual image is seen as that deeply inside the screen.To study on the real image, people have to build a lenticular stereoscopic displayplatform, and then obtain parallax image through converged shooting. And the last stepis to shoot stereo image from two views and four views by3D Studio Max, and thatfrom eight views in the real environment. The stereo image of the three groups should be displayed on the platform for observing the effects. Finally, the experimental resultshave shown that, the real image can be well displayed in both two shootingenvironments. By contrast with the virtual image, the real image is more excellent inthe sense of depth and of more research significance. Moreover, the spatial informationwill increase with the number of viewpoint, but note that the number of viewpointgenerally maintains at8to10for the best.
