In this paper, the main intent is to improve efficiency of hydraulic pipe network calculation by graphical technique and three-dimensional simulation technique. In general, hydraulic pipe network calculation is a heavy workload, and requires continuous optimization. As one pipe adjustment brings parameters recalculation for every pipe and node in entire network. If using calculator manually, several months will be take on the recalculation, and even though by excel tool, more than one week is needed to get optimal parameters. In addition, the amount of data is large, about more than one thousand nodes, it is not intuitive and easy to find out the wrong node by non-graphics mode, and also may miss some important problematic node. To solve this problem, a new method is proposed that showing some useful information on three-dimensional form, like the water head lost, pressure node, isopiestic line, elevation and so all, which help to identify the improper and unfavorable nodes quickly.The main work of this paper includes:(1) Using the graphical pipe network parameters as input, which can avoid the un-match problem between pipes and nodes which caused by using the pipe network hydraulic calculation table as input before.(2) Using the automatically association method in parameters calculation which is more efficient than by calculator or excel tool directly.(3) Using three-dimensional simulation to figure out the problem on water head lost, pressure node, isopiestic line, elevation and so all, and accelerate the efficiency of pipe network optimization and adjustment.(4) This system is designed following the requirements of "Rural Water Supply Project design specifications" SL687-2014, it can be applied to the construction of safe drinking water in rural factories. This design of graphical pipe network hydraulic calculation method and three-dimensional simulation system accord with the requirements of "Rural Water Supply Project design specifications", and the target users is low computer level pipe network designers in county. Developed on the design above, the software is easy to use, and pipe network designers can quickly find problems by graphic interface, and adjust the parameters directly, then software finishes hydraulic calculation automatically. A week work before can be done in a day, even one hour now, greatly improving designers’efficiency. Above all, the new software firstly brings a three-dimensional simulation into hydraulic calculation software, and achieves the great performace.
