The Research And Application Of IaaS Cloud Web Load Test Framework

With the rapid development of Cloud Computing, more and more companies has been moved or will move their core business workload to Cloud, so it becomes more important to make sure its success and reliability, and the load test of Cloud Computing gets more attention and becomes to a overarching concern. Base on analyzing and discussing the Web Load Test, according to the key feature and characteristics of the IaaS private Cloud, this thesis presented a framework and its specific application process, which had been proved through project.The main work in this thesis includes:(1) On the basis of analysis of the key technology of Cloud Computing and Web Load Test, summarized what should be tested and covered by Web Load Test on IaaS Cloud platform, and discussed the function and limitation of existing ’Performance Test General Model’, this thesis described why we need a special framework for IaaS Web Load Test.(2) On the basis of analyzing the architecture and function of current existing IaaS Cloud platforms, this thesis proposed a framework of Cloud Computing Web Load Test, and described the4components in this framework:business test scenarios, Web performance indicators, the performance of the workflow of key business, benchmark test of Virtual Machine which is the product of the IaaS cloud platform.(3) On the basis of summarizing how to apply the framework of Cloud Computing Web Load Test to test daily work according to its content and characteristic, this thesis proposed a valuable application process of this framework, which includes steps:selecting suitable test tool, selecting valuable test case, preparing the test script, designing the schedule and any other parameters related to work load, running the schedule and getting the web performance indicators result and resource monitoring result, analyzing the test result and finding the bottleneck and then pushing the issues fixed, analyzing the performance of the workflow, running benchmark of the provisioned virtual machine.(4) Based on running Web Load Test to an IaaS cloud project, described the IaaS Cloud Web Load Test framework and its special application process in detail, and then analyzed the test result, found the potential bottleneck of the system and analyzed it to push it to get fixed, ensure that the system can reach the expected performance or better.The Framework of IaaS Cloud Web Load Test proposed in this thesis has been applied to a project, and get what we expected as we designed. This framework is with versatility and also strong operability, enhances the efficiency and quality for IaaS Cloud Web Load testing, and with a large reference value for performance testing on a similar project.
