Content Centric Networking (CCN) is a new network architecture which is content-centric by making named data directly addressable and routable. CCN changes the host-oriented end-to-end communication to be content-centric with in-network caching technology to provide a more secure, flexible and scalable network and to improve the network resource utilization. In-network caching is the key technology of CCN. Compared with traditional Web cache and CDN cache systems, CCN cache has new characteristics:Transparency, ubiquity, and fine granularity, which put new challenges on the modeling, understanding and optimization of the networked cache system.Research on CCN caching mainly focused on the network performance optimization and caching system modeling analysis. CCN employs ALWAYS-LRU caching strategy now, which leads to serious content redundancy and bring great challenges to the requirements for caching capacity of network routers.It is true that in-network caching can improve network performance, however, how to design an effective caching mechanism for CCN is still in the study. In this paper, we introduce a popularity-based caching strategy for CCN to improve the network performance. We first design a content popularity prediction mechanism which can reflect the content popularity trend in the near future. Then we propose a caching strategy based on the popularity prediction, and implements the CCN network communication model by simulation. Finally, we verified the superiority of the popucache strategy in server hit and hopcount,which has a better performance compared with the traditional cache strategy。...
