Research On Botnet Of Intelligent Terminal In Converged Netwrok

Intelligent terminals like PCs, smart televisions, set-top boxes are becoming increasingly popular. Such intelligent terminals have exposed some serious questions as well as provide convenient and efficient life to people. On the other hand, botnets have infiltrated many different terminal platforms like smart phones, routers, set-tup boxes. Predictably, with the market of intelligent terminals expanding, botnets will pose a growing threat in these terminals. Hence, it has a very important significance to research new form and new trend of botnet in the converged network containing diffirent intelligent terminals. We evaluate the feasibility and harmfulness of the new type of botnet and provide new model of thinking for botnet defending in the fulture.First, we introduce the present quality status and development trend of current intelligent terminals and botnets. Second, basing on the fundamental structure of botnets, we look into the vulnerability of current intelligent terminals, looing for weak links which may be exploited by botnets. In the new background of converged network, we present a new method of building command and control (C&C) channels, and continue studying botnet propagating from single platform to cross-platforms. As a result, we present a technical proposal of cross-platforms propagating.Based on the research on key technology of botnet under new background, we build a prototype system of botnet. According to this system, we evaluate and confirm that this type of botnet can be realized and have great harm. Perinently, we proposed defense stragegy against such botnets.
