With the rapid development of network and applications, the switches, as the core of data center, carry more and more capabilities so as to make data forwarding units of switches much more swollen. Switch vendors only open up a command line like interface with a small amount functionalities for protecting their own marketing share and technology. Not only it is difficult for researchers to experiment and deploy new network architectures in a real network, but also it greatly increases the maintenance cost of data center network and can’t meet the rapid growth and changing network demands in current cloud computing environment. The appearance of OpenFlow technology provides opportunity to solve the problems. The network architecture is composed of control plane and forwarding plane. The controller which has the global information of networks has centralized control of all OpenFlow switches. These OpenFlow switches are only responsible for the forwarding of data packets. The separation of controlling and forwarding make the management and configuration of networks become possible for administrators. However, the current OpenFlow technology is still in research stage and is not widely used in the real cloud computing environment. Current traditional technologies are not easy to solve the problem of multi-tenant private network isolation and reasonable physical resource allocation. In order to solve the above problem, this paper presents the design and implementation of subnet isolation and resources allocation system in OpenFlow network. According to the actual needs of physical network, users can dynamically create and modify isolated virtual private network. As private networks can also have public IP address, virtual hosts within the private network can provide public services. Meanwhile, this paper has proposed the global optimal path algorithm for network mapping and resources allocation which improves resources utilization rate and the load balancing of links. This paper firstly introduces the OpenFlow, Data Center Network, the background and significance of subnet isolation and resources allocation system in OpenFlow network. Then it presents the related technologies used in this system. Secondly, the paper proposed an analysis of requirements and a solution to the key technical scenarios. Thirdly, the design and implementation of subnet isolation and resources allocation system in OpenFlow network was introduced. The overall architecture design of this system, the interactions between the various function modules and the realization of the sub-modules in detail was presented. Finally, the last part showed the system testing and an analysis of testing results.
