It is clear that people eating out has become a way of life and social catering concept matures with the improvement of people’s living standards. Excluding excessive and luxury consumption after the bubble economy, public catering will become the mainstream in the future development of the industry. At present, the application based on iOS of the Apple has become an irreplaceable trend.In the above background, this paper designs and implements an intelligent ordering system based on the iPad platform of iOS. There is no need to use pen and paper in the service progress for restaurants. Obviously this can speed up the whole ordering process. What’s more it can also analyze the user’s habit of ordering so that it can recommend suitable dishes for users. For users, the iPad ordering system can enhance user experience compared to traditional ordering process more comfortable. Of cource users can see more information about the dishes and reviews of other users. You also can find their favorite dishes faster.It is from the perspective of design patterns to design and implement the entire system, and use existing mature technologies such as multi-threading, animation, runtime to make the system more stable and reliable and have a good scalability. The whole system is divided into several modules such as login, classification, recommendation, dishes, order, datamanager, AFNetworking and caching. The system innovation is to design a set of "recommendation strategy based on the number of diners" and existing recommendation algorithms, and that the C++LRU algorithm and Objective-c were mixed to manage memory, that takes use of the strong template characteristics of C++. While the running efficiency of the C++compiler is high, memory data management can be more efficient.Finally, this paper carried out the function and the performance test of the whole system. At present, the system has been preliminary used, and has a good effect in function and performance, but that is necessary to improve furtherly the design of UI.
