In recent years, all over the world are making great efforts to carry out research work in wireless sensor network technology. Because it has a small size, low power consumption, low cost, easy to use, wide range of applications and many other advantages. Especially in national defense, health care, environmental monitoring and other fields have broad prospects for development. Sensor nodes as the basis and core of research in wireless sensor network part, so the research on the node function is very important.The FPGA is the main control chip in the design of sensor network node platform.USB data interface module realizes the node and PC communication function. Acquisition conditioning module is to convert and condition the analog signal. The wireless transceiver module is used to realize the wireless communication. Storage module’s function is to store data. The power management module is responsible for the wireless node power supply. It made a detailed research and analysis.The time synchronization technology is the foundation of wireless sensor network technology application development. As the sensor node’s internal resources and energy are limited, so the researchers develop a new time synchronization protocol for wireless sensor networks to save resources and energy consumption of sensor nodes. This design on the node hardware platform using FPGA to build and maintain a high-precision clock, and through FPGA recording and monitoring beacon packet arrival time information, a sensor network time synchronization protocol is designed. The protocol combines the synchronization of high precision time counting technique,linear regression technique and a reference broadcast time. Computer simulation was carried out on the model. Finally, the article sums up the work and looks forward to the future work.
