In recent years, wireless sensor network has attracted many researchers’ widespread attention as a promising application area. Wireless sensor network technology consists of sensors, wireless communications and embedded devices. A large number of micro-nodes carry on data transmission by radio communication and monitor specific areas with self-organization. With the application fields of wireless sensor network in military, medical research, transportation, building and so on, the confidentiality during data transmission in wireless sensor networks has become one of the key research problems. Because of the fragility and limitations, traditional network security encryption scheme can’t be applied to wireless sensor networks directly. New cryptographic algorithms need to be designed to cater to the security features of wireless sensor networks. Due to the characteristics of chaotic cipher algorithms, it meets the security requirements of wireless sensor networks mostly and has great significance in the future.In the paper, by analyzing the architecture and features of wireless sensor network nodes, we conduct research on chaotic stream cipher algorithm and encryption technology for the application of wireless sensor networks. Firstly, a new method of chaotic sequence cipher algorithm is put forward to make the flaws by analyzing the diffusion mechanism. The model of sequence cipher is cross coupled tent map lattice, whose system size can output in different length according to the different level of safety and efficiency in different application areas. At the same time, according to the characteristics of wireless sensor network, the encryption algorithm is improved to be more integer and dynamic which called dynamic cross coupled tent map lattice model. Statistical analysis shows the security and computational speed of sequence encryption algorithm are strengthened at the premise of wireless sensor networks’hardware restricted conditions.In order to verify the feasibility of chaotic sequence cipher algorithm in wireless sensor network, the simulation of TinyOS operating system is carries on by using necC language. The simulation experiments of energy consumption by TOSSIM software show that the chaotic sequence cipher algorithm has lower power consumption than common encryption algorithms in wireless sensor network. Lastly by use of zigbex sensor node, the algorithm is implemented on the hardware platform, verifying the feasibility of the designed sequence cipher algorithm in wireless sensor networks.
