With the development of the integration capability in the petroleum industry in our country, information technology in daily management has become more and more important. China National Offshore Oil Corporation has put information technology into practice. CNOOC (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch Pinghu oil and gas field has brought IBM Maximo System to do asset maintenance. This system can help to do the jobs of asset management, work management, supplies management and purchasing management. Since the system was applied in the company, the boss of Shanghai Branch and the leaders of Pinghu oil and gas field project pay much attention to it. In the active cooperation of the various departments, as well as on-site personnel, it has been finished that the development work which is based on customers’demand and the collection of basic data which is used to complete the data collection. The system has reached a preliminary requirement.The design and open of the Maximo system is based on application of Java and Maximo, Actuate and other tools. It uses the idea of object-oriented design to exposit the development process comprehensively from demand analysis, overall design, detailed design, coding, implementation, system migration, user training and on-line operation. The main content of the system development includes the following aspects. In the implementation of the requirements analysis phase, describes the division of the system function modules Maximo and describe the functional requirements of the software detailedly with the use of flow chart. Prior to the overall design of the system, define the norms of basic data collection standards and system development stictly. And implement it srictly in the implementation process. In the design phase of system development, using the database, application, design, report design and workflow design at the same time, it guaranteed quality and won the time for online implementing.At present, the system has been used in Pinghu oil and gas successfully. The system has the characteristic of easy to operate, testing fast and accurate data. Especially in KPI report data, it provides strong support and help for management decision-making. It adapted to the Pinghu oil and gas field development of the asset management information needs.
