Research On Russian Social Networking Sites Development Problems And Countermeasures

SNS is the abbreviation for social networking sites. The social networking site is based on the theory of six degree separation. It is the theory that everyone and everything is six or fewer steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world. The history of social networking sites began from the social networking service Facebook in the United States, which has caused a worldwide sensation. After Facebook, social networking sites have developed rapidly and have replications in all countries. Although social networking sites are similar in all countries, they differ in design and habits of usage due to cultural differences and characteristics in communication styles.This master’s thesis was researched on the basis of the current state of social networking sites in Russia and their formation and stages of development, including the various types and characteristics of such sites. The prospects for the development of social networking sites were also researched. Currently, there is inadequate research in Russian scientific literature about social networking sites of different countries, and this is why the researcher has chosen one of the most popular Russian social sites, Vkontakte, and the Chinese social site Renren Wang as the objects of research. In addition, a detailed comparative analysis of the aspects of social network sites was made. This comprises site structure, the current state of development and modes of operation.
