Currently, the trend of globalization continued in-depth, China is also in closer touch with the world. With the continuous improvement of China’s sustained economic growth and the enhance of China’s international influence, China’s international position is also undergoing changes that profoundly affected by Chinese politics, economy, culture and even the behavior of citizens. Undoubtedly, as China’s economic and social development transfer from victory all the way over the past 30 years to the current "new normal", the changes of China’s international image, as well as deep-seated reasons behind these changes, has began to enter people’s sight, and has increasingly become people’s focus and study objects. The quality of a country’s image has further affect to the country’s sustainable development, especially when a country’s economic and society have developed to a certain extent, the concentration of the people of will elevate from the needs of social and economical development to the rapid integration into the globe,as well as the recognition and acceptation by the international community, especially by the western countries. Actually, this is a kind of soft power competition. This contest behind the soft power determined China’s international status. However, the presentation of a country’s image in the international community depends more on foreign media,which serves as a carrier of transmission. With the improvement of the society, new media rises rapidly and the social media has become an important carrier of shaping and constructing China’s national image. The research object of this article is the news about China presented in the common social media VKONTAKTE that is commonly used by Russian countries. This paper combines Six Degrees of Separation Theory with the Agenda Setting Theory,. Based on the methods of quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis and content analysis which is the main method of analysis, this paper selects the news from October 2014 to September2015, and uses the number of reported issues, space, tendentious, transfer amount, etc., and other forms of presentation including pictures, videos and voting to analyze the image of China in news and videos as well as sump up the characteristics and laws of China’s image in social media among this year. The study found that news about China in VK are neutral,positive coverage are more than negative reports and narrative mode of Western thought occurred on specific topics, but did not appear "China threat" argument, and the overall shape of China’s image is Objective, but at the same time, Russia’s unique historical feelings and power plot has also been reflected.
