Scientific and social development has brought an increasing requirement to the performance of industrial control system. The requirement includes not only the improvement of control accuracy, but also the reduction of energy consumption. Hence, advanced control algorithm and optimization algorithm is necessary for industrial process to meet these requirements. However, complex control algorithms can be hardly implemented on common control system whose core controller is PLC. Meanwhile, although controllers with c language programming can be used to implement those algorithms, it entails a long development period and a high requirement to the developers. Therefore, an efficient implementation platform of complex control algorithm is a necessary resound to the general industrial trend. At the same time, Model based design (MBD) is a famous high-efficiency computer aid design (CAD) thought which is popular in complex industrial fields such as automobile and aviation.This thesis is supported by national basic research program of China (973Program, NO2009CB320601). In order to reduce the difficulty of complex control algorithm development, MBD thought is introduced into industray. At the same time a lot of research and engineering works has been done on the combination of automatic code generation technology and real-time operating system. Finally an implementation platform of complex control algorithm based on MBD is developed and tested on the control systems of fused magnesia furnace. The result reflects that advanced control methods for the smelting process of the furnace can be rapidly developed and provide a good control performance.The main works of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, MBD thought is introduced including its advantages compared with traditional design methods. At the same time, RTW of Simulink is also introduced as well as its customizing mechanism for a specific target on its code generation process.Secondly, recent MBD implementation technology is deeply analyzed. Automatic code generation, which is the core technology of MBD implementation, is improved. The improvement contains the development of a driver block library for DAQ card as well as the optimization of generated code. Besides, a set of Performance Monitoring API is developed according to the structure of generated code.Finally, the integrated planning of fused magnesia furnace controller based on MBD is proposed, and a prototype of the controller is developed including its hardware and software. Hardware development embraces the selection of CPU board and DAQ board as well as the development of signal conditioning board; Software development contains the development of driver blocks and a GUI program for the operators to interact with the control program via a touch screen.
