With the advent of LTE era, video service has welcomed a huge development opportunity. While, because of its huge transmission advantage in newly, timely and less costly, broadcast videoservice gets more concern. In LTE specification, enhancement for multimedia broadcast multicastservice (E-MBMS) is supported. Relying on LTE network, E-MBMS has a complete andindependent architecture, and it has a one-to-many transmission advantage. It can make moreefficient use of existing spectrum and mobile networks, deliver higher quality video content to theuser. Therefore, in the LTE network environment, research on E-MBMS technology has greatpractical significance. The Paper mainly researches on E-MBMS implementation technology.Firstly, the paper researches on the technical background E-MBMS, its development andevolution of its standard. Then, the paper researches on the complete implementation of E-MBMSservice from aspects in service architecture, interface protocols, service processes and signallingmessages.Secondly, the paper makes some improvements on video content distribution of E-MBMSservice. The paper introduces CDN-P2P convergence architecture to E-MBMS and proposes anE-MBMS video distribution scheme based on CDN-P2P. Then, the paper makes detailed design onthe E-MBMS video distribution scheme in two aspects load balancing module and contentdsitribution module. Thirdly, a prototype system of E-MBMS is developed according to the theoriesbefore. Finally, the paper makes some testing on the E-MBMS prototype system in its function andperformance. The results indicate that E-MBMS prototype system complies with3GPP corresspondingstandards, and it has good load balancing and content distribution effects. It has a good referencevalue for further research in the future.
