Bentonite as a mineral resource, the performance is very good, with a variety of features such as swelling, adhesion, adsorption, catalysis, ion exchange, etc., high economic value, are widely used in metallurgy, machinery, petroleum, chemical, environmental protection and other fields. With the development of the industry, the yield and quality of bentonite also put forward higher requirements, improve the level of automation and control of bentonite processing machinery, to improve production efficiency has a very important value.The background of this paper is demonstration project based on bentonite production line control engineering in Jinshi Group,Liaoning province. With deep study of bentonite production process and technical control requirements and process characteristics, the automatic system is composed by the IPC, PLC, related instruments and other hardware devices, and combined industrial ethernet and field-bus technology. The main content of the system includes four sections. The first section is to select patten of IPC,PLC, executive device and detection instrument. The second section is to construct netword enviroment with industrial ethernet and Profibus-DP. The third section is to write the structured application with SIMATIC STEP7V5.4. The last section to achieve the HMI configuration and fuzzy-PID control algorithm of simulation flowcharts, alarming, report form windows, user security management applying WINCC6.0on the upper computers.Based on the above control system design, the paper realized the automatic control of bentonite production line. According to the production equipment and experience in the field with the operator fuzzy PID control thought, through an intuitive, simple and accurate configuration control screen, in order to detect real-time data, record production process control and process monitoring parameters, historical data query and fault diagnostic alarm and other features that make the management and control of the production line is more convenient.
