The Design And Implementation For Employee’s Attendance Management System

With the rapid development of the computer technology, computers and the automatic processingtechnique based on them have been used and are playing an increasingly important role in many fields ofhuman society. Also, they have changed people’s lives, jobs and school lives subtly. Today, using computersto manage the attendance information has a unmatched advantage over managing it by hand such as fastsearch, convenient look up, high reliability, huge capacity, well security, long life span and low cost etc. Allof these advantages can greatly improve the efficiency of attendance management. However, confronted thecurrent changes of the attendance management of employees, a new kind of system is necessary to bedeveloped to prepare for these changes.An attendance management system that records and analyzes the attendance information of employeesof a company is shown in this paper, basing the practical attendance rules of the company. And its main usersare the employees and the manager of the company. The developing process of this system follows the basicprocess of developing a general software project: requirements analysis, detail design, system implementation,system testing, system operation and maintenance. We use Microsoft’s integrated development environmentVisual Studio2005and choose C#programming language which is the standard developing language inthe.NET platform. The background database of the system is SQL Server2005. ADO.NET and Web Servicetechnology are also used in the system. The paper discusses the main process, which includes requirementsanalysis, system and design, system implementation and test, of the attendance management system of acompany follows the steps above.After the system was implemented and applied in real enterprise, it has brought significant economicbenefits for enterprise. First, it liberates the attendance management staffs from the multifarious recordingsand analyses of employee attendance data, alleviates the work burden of attendance management staffs. Andat the same time, it saves the cost of human resources management for the enterprises and improves the workefficiency of the enterprise.
