On this platform, there are often certain social emergencies thatcaused great concern in society, which then turned to a formation of public opinion of aspecial kind. In this process, the objective is to improve the citizens’ democratic awarenessand promote civic and political participation, but also help people to better supervise thegovernment, which will help the government to make scientific and right decisions, which is anew way of networking media to promote political democracy and development; Meanwhile,the network also revealed the arbitrariness of public opinion, blindness, etc., could easily leadto "network of violence" and "crisis of confidence in the government" and other consequences,and even interfere with the independence of the judiciary, which is a serious impediment tothe development of political democracy. Therefore, it is necessary to study the related issuesin order to optimize the network media, the consolidation of mainstream awareness, improvethe government’s credibility and boost political democracy are important.In this paper, the network consensus and political democracy will be the main object ofthe study. Through political science theory, literature analysis, case studies, functionalanalysis and other research methods to explore the impact of network consensus on politicaldemocracy and to address the negative impact. Firstly, give definition and characteristics ofthe network consensus, and the definition is believed that the network consensus is publicopinion (especially users) through the network platform to express their opinion on certainpublic opinion in the form of special events, reflecting public opinion to some extent, butemotionally and has formed fast, diversity, randomness, sudden, complexity, and so easilymanipulated. It also made the connotation of political democracy resolution, and discussedother issues on its construction and development. Secondly, the impact of network consensuson political democracy has been analysed. This paper argues mainly from four aspects, firstly, the need toestablish a comprehensive network of public opinion incident response mechanisms tomaintain political democracy. Secondly, strengthen regulatory responsibilities of mainstreamsite. But the negative impact brought by network consensus will become a huge obstacleto political and democratic progress, it must be taken seriously and explore the measuresactively to eliminate the negative impact brought by the network consensus, while avoidingdisadvantages give full play to the true value of the network consensus, in order to promotethe development of political democracy. While network media constantly presenting newfeatures, the current domestic research on the impact of public opinion on political democracyis still relatively small, to analyze the status quo of network consensus in China andattempting to give countermeasures in this paper has some innovative.
