Traditional bookstores always need renting a house to sell books. Since thecurrent rent of commercial center become higher and higher, labor costs are alsoincreasing year by year and traditional bookstores do not have enough book types,which makes bookstore get less and less profile, even some close. Years ago, Xi Shubookstore chain and Bertelsmann book club have collapsed, showing that nowtraditional bookstores are facing some survival difficulties. According to the surveyof the National Association of industry and Commerce Chamber, nearly halfcountry’s private bookshops have closed in the past10years. What makes us worrymore is that the situation is getting worse. Meanwhile, online shopping is becomingmore and more popular. Related statistics show that Chinese network shoppingmarket scale reached1.85trillion yuan, up42%,online shopping transactionsaccounted for the total retail sales of consumer goods reached7.8%.At the sametime, the government continues to support for the enterprise’s electronic commerce,making China’s online shopping market have a great development space. Based onthe above situation, what imminent is that an online bookstore is established fortraditional bookstore, opening a new sale channels.This paper adopts mature and sophisticated technologies to implement thesystem. Development platform use Eclipse which is based on Java language.Realization method use the B/S architecture, whose system follows the J2EE modelsystem and MVC Framework, and the key technology use the mainstreamStrus+Spring+Hibernate development means for Web system at present.This paper mainly studies the online bookstore’s foreground system,background management system, interface paging display, system access controland so on. The design of the foreground can interact well with readers, which hasregistration, shopping cart, order inquiries, book search and comments and otherfunctions. The background system can manage and maintain the books information,inventory information, review, reader registration information, sales information andso on. Paging display is favorable for interface layout and appearance, and can also reduce the pressure of the server, through the Hibernate segment query for databaseaccomplish paging. Some foreground operation requires the readers to register andlog in,and different administrator of background have different rights, if anadministrator who does not get permission cannot access the corresponding functionmodule.The interceptor mechanism of Struts2can realize the control of the access.The system has been tested, verified and achieved with good results. Theforeground system can display rich books information and interact with readers well;the backstage management system can effectively manage and maintaincorresponding information, to achieve the goals which are set bydemand analysis specification; the implementation of access control make thesystem have good security and reliability.Online bookstore system designed in this paper, overcomes the shortcomings ofthe lack of manpower, space, books and publicity of the traditional bookstore. It cansave the store rent, labor cost and publicity costs, and take little occupation ofresource, carry a large amount of information, and be convenient for maintenance. Itcan also provide good technical support for the management of books, sales businessand so on. The system has brought great convenience to the readers and booksellers.Readers can buy books easily. Booksellers can save the cost used in book pricediscount so that it can improve bookstore’s core competitiveness. The use of thissystem will open up a new sales space for traditional book industry.
