As most of the Mongolian people’s daily communication language, Mongolianinherits their special historical culture. In recent years, each languish is accelerating theprocess of information processing, while the development of Mongolian is slow, due to thelack of attention and funding. In order to change the current situation, and to satisfy theneeds of the language information development of the Mongolian people, and at the sametime to promote other peoples’ approval of the Mongolian culture, doing the applicationresearch that related to Mongolian is necessary. This paper introduces the emergingtechnologies of semantic web ontology in the Mongolian language information processing,to drive its development with the aid of this proactive study, and broaden the thought ofMongolian application. The paper selects natural disaster information as the ontologyresearch field, mainly because of that this field is relatively lack of ontology research, andnatural disasters have obvious randomness, that make the masses have little acknowledgeof it. Once the disasters occur, the consequences which unable to bear will cause. Todaythe degree of the popularization for disaster prevention and response is not high, and mostpeople can only take action passively, which is adverse to pursue interests and avoid riskswhen disasters occur, so it has a certain practical significance to do some relatedapplication research. This paper has built a system model for query processing of Mongolian disasterinformation. It mainly brings the related application of WordNet (a large vocabularyontology library), Protégéontology building tools and Jena(processing tools of ontologyresources framework model), and it combined with MySQL database and Javaprogramming language to build the system. The specific implementation process involvesthe conversion process of Mongolian disaster information that input, which converts theMongolian information to the corresponding form in English by the Mongolian dictionarythat built above and the Chinese WordNet database, and then using the similarity algorithmbased on WordNet to match the English form and the name of the class in the disastersontology, on this basis to query the relevant information of ontology. The paper alsoincludes the disaster ontology building and the Jena processing flow of ontology model etc.As the specific implementation model that combined with WordNet and domain ontology, this research provides a cross-language processing method, and this versatility of designpattern can provide a reference for similar application research.
