Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is composed of a large number of sensor nodes,data-centric self-organizing network, it can be environment-aware, data acquisitionand processing. With the rapid development of related technology and the maturity ofsensor nodes that is low-cost, low-power, multifunctional and tiny, so wireless sensornetworks has become a new research hotspot. Therefore WSNs is being deployed forgreenhouse environment monitoring. In this paper, under the greenhouse environment monitoring application background,we research deeply on coverage control technology and energy-saving technology, inorder to enable them to meet the application needs more. This paper first introducesthe research background, research status of key technologies in wireless sensornetworks, wireless sensor networks and related knowledge and routing protocols. Then cover the overview of wireless sensor network control problems for the researchbackground, using a control algorithm based on matrix covered by the judgment ofredundant nodes, under the premise of maintaining coverage performance, minimizethe number of nodes to work, prolong the network lifetime. And consider the nodedeployment obstructions case. Meanwhile, compare with circumferential coveringalgorithm, simulation results show that the algorithm used in this paper cover higherthan the average circumference covering algorithm coverage, and moreenergy-saving.This paper also analyzes and research on LEACH routing protocol, considering therouting layer, MAC layer and physical layer, combined with nonlinear battery model,FSK modulation, TDMA technology to cross-layer variable modulation index forwireless sensor networks cross-layer optimization technology has been improved. InMATLAB simulation platform for LEACH routing protocol and the proposedcross-layer energy-saving technology improvements are analyzed and compared, theresults show that cross-layer energy saving technology has improved the efficiency ofenergy greatly and prolong the overall life of wireless sensor networks.
