Design And Development Of Higher Vocational Colleges Website Based On The B/S Structure

Along with the nation’s recognition and strong investment of vocationaleducation, the higher vocational college education is playing a significant role in thenation’s education affair. At present,every higher vocational college catches an eye onits traits, explores its potential,and sets up featured specialized subjects.Meanwhile, the colleges abandon the specialized subjects idea which is “largeand inclusive", and adopt the school spirit which is "fewer but better" Moreover,theymake every effort to establish leading specialized subjects with industrialdevelopment value and industrial competition superiority.At the same time, against the background of information explosion,“deeplyburied gold cannot shine”. What every college needs to consider is that how topublicize the college itself, set a good image of the institution, simplify work process,shorten the distance between teachers and students, promote the culture of campus,and dig the potential resources.Today, in the21st century, the Internet technology has been a vital part of thesociety and daily life. As a result, various social institutions create portals which showand compliance with their own characteristics one after another. It is worthmentioning that many colleges establish their own portals as well. Internally, it maysimplify work process, strengthen communication between teachers and students,integrate and share resources, and enrich the campus life. And externally, it becomesthe window which reflects the college image and advantages as well.Due to job demands, I take the responsibility to design and develop the Websiteof Liaoning Financial Vocational College. In order to create a qualified collegewebsite that can meet our college’s demand, I researched and studied administrativeand teaching departments of the college, counted work needs, and analyzed and arranged the collected data. Thus, such a website platform has been established after Itried my best to satisfy the college and each department’s demand as much aspossible.The prevalent B/S structure (also Browser/Serve structure) is applied in theprogress of building the website. What’s more, ASP.NET dynamic website technologyalso made a contribution to the website. In addition, Microsoft Office Access ishelpful to build the relevant database.This platform starts from itself, and designs the website building flow combiningwith the state quo of campus website construction and application. As a result, theconstructing work of campus website has been achieved. Furthermore, it plays a goodsupporting role in the construction of campus informatization, propagation of campusculture, and publicity of college’s image.
