The computer information system has been invented since the beginning of20th century. From then on, people are able to store data information, perform data abstraction and analysisin a computer system which can be connected with any other system within a local network. With the development of the capacity of data processing, accuracy of data extraction andthe diversification, computer information system becomes one of the most important tools inseveral domains, such as military, politics, economy, culture territories. Traditional datamanagement system has been evolved to a new alternative model with a comprehensive datamanagement based on computer information system. The information Management system has been developed in Pharmacy Storeroom duringthe last a few years, which was the pioneer in the hospital information transformation. In HIS(Hospital Information System) system’s inception, the mainly developed field wasinformation processing system, such as toll system and storeroom management. Therefore, pharmacy storeroom was always a top priority for hospital system management development. In the traditional storeroom management system, inbound and outbound depot storage andinformation management are not standardized, which result the incoherence of the realstoreroom inventory and accounting information. The storeroom management is a complextopic for hospitals, and the traditional approach is unable to adapt to the hospital standardizedmanagement requirements. The modern hospitals need an intelligent, accurate, fast andconvenient storeroom system. That is the reason why information system has been drawn intostoreroom management.Based on the real needs of Pharmacy Storeroom Management, the purpose and the maintopic of this paper is to propose an overall solution on system development in this domain byanalyzing the requirements, the system work flow and the storage processes The maincontents of this paper are as follows:1. This paper describes the origin and storeroom management information system designideas, realization methods and the improvement comparing to the traditional managementsystems. This paper states the current situation of the worldwide Pharmacy storeroomdevelopment, and proposes a prospect of future evolution. 2. This paper does deep analysis on the requirements of pharmacy storeroommanagement, the functions and the work flows. The details analysis are based on variousrequirements, including human resources management, department and organizationmanagement, pharmacy management, in-bound and out-bound depot informationmanagement, storage checking and inventory management, pricing, statement reportinformation and so on.3. This paper carries out an overall design of the Storeroom management informationsystem, as well as the preliminary design, and database plan. This paper provides theexplication on system maintenance, different modules of information system design such aspharmacy storage system, and the subsystems corresponding to related class.4. This paper provides a lot of aspects based on data management, inbound and outbounddepot records, and stock. The correspondent data performance tests are also included, such asdata pressure tests.5. Details description of the system is presented for database design, software design anddevelopment, data collection, data integration, software testing, LAN connectivity, serverclient set up, the software code framework and other programs. In a word, this paper focuses on the daily work for storeroom management needs, workflow and processes, proposes an overall solution on the information system design andimplementation. All necessary information has been included into account, including softwareengineering design, process-oriented database design and framework construction design.
