Tactical data link is a system for transmitting and distributing the formatted message. In the data link network, all kinds of information in accordance with the provisions of the format for transmission and exchange. It has the characteristics of real-time, automatic, confidential. Data link to realize the sharing of information resources. Emergence of tactical data link has greatly enhanced the information acquisition, processing, transmission capacity.Tactical data link as the core technology of modern military electronic information system, is the basic technology of military information system interconnection. Through the data link technology, to combine the information acquisition, information processing, information transmission, information control, early warning, electronic warfare and other functions together. Tactical data link could coordinate all combat units, all command organs, combat troops, weapons platform together organically, thus forming a land, sea, air, sky integration platform. Tactical data link to enhance the combat capability of troops.Tactical data link message standard is a set of technical parameters and procedures. It can be compatible with other systems and equipment interoperability. This paper focuses on the J series messages of Link-16, which is widely used in the U.S. J series message standard by MIL-STD-6016and the NATO STANAG5516&STANAG5516. It uses a fixed length message format. This paper introduces the J series messages format, message word structure, message receiving and dispatching mechanism, and focus on the initial network entry, relative navigation, track processing.I also use OPNET, a network simulation software, to evaluate the performance of the algorithm.
