Research On Sdn Technology Based System Integration Testing

With the development of information technology, network technology has been widely used and deployed. By the increasing number of users and business types, the Internet has become the modern human society interactive information infrastructure, the innovation of the Internet technology research has also become a continuous hot spot in this field, the Software Defined Network represented by OpenFlow is the highlight feature of this network innovation technology. As a new type of network architecture, the core of SDN design concept is to separate the network layer and the control layer and make the network system more open, in order to realize the programmability of the network.As a substitute for traditional network equipment potential success or supplement, to make it commercially viable, network functionality and performance becomes extremely important for OpenFlow controller and switches. Due to the openness of interface and the lack of compatibility testing, it is extremely necessary for the OpenFlow system to have intercommunity testing task. And the original measuring method based on traditional routers and switches also cannot completely apply for the SDN network.In the begining of this thesis, a detailed introduction to the development and the challenge of SDN is made. And also, the author also made investigation and research on OpenFlow related technologies, including OpenFlow switches, OpenFlow controllers and OpenFlow protocol specifications. Also, the thesis made an introduction to a number of existing studies on providing routing services in SDN network. After that, the thesis made an introduction to the existing network testing technology and related testing tools, and made a detailed analysis and research on OpenFlow/SDN network testing methodology. Finally, a system integration testing measure is described for OpenFlow switches and controller in building a OpenFlow based SDN network. This plan can make not only protocol conformance testing, but also function and performance testing on equipments in SDN network. It can realize the correct selection for these equipments, so as to make the SDN network successfully deployed and applied.
