The thesis is based on processing70thousand tons of pyrolysis carbon nine (C9) refined2-ring pentadiene (DCPD) project (hereinafter referred to as the’C9refined’). To reduce energy consumption and manual labor intensity, and solve the problems such as running unstably in the existed control system, a new automatic control system is designed, based on Emerson DeltaV DCS System.The thesis studies the process of C9refined production and points out its control problems, difficulty and potential safety hazard. Then, it designs control system in detail, mainly focused on the following aspects:the deployment of the control system, the selection of the field instruments, the detailed design of the cabinet, the detailed design of the control strategy, etc. In the aspect of the detailed design of the control strategy, this thesis has completed the design of the sign processing, the simple control loop, the complex control loop, the sequential control loop and the custom control loop, including the control loop tune. Finally, In order to achieve the goal of saving energy and simplifying the operation, this thesis try to use predictive control method to solve the problem of the rectifying column control, which are the large time delay, nonlinear and strong coupling, etc. The experimental result proves the control system feasible.At present, this control system has been put into operation. Using the control system, the goal of saving energy and improving efficiency has been achieved. In addition, the predictive control scheme also provides a reference for other projects.
