Rapid development of Android system and rise of naked eyes3D technology create an innovative combination of both. Remote stereoscopic video play platform as one of the research focus, having the advantage of convenience, low-cost, and value-added potential, is getting great concern of operators, developers and users.Remote stereoscopic video play platform designed in this paper is made of server and client two parts. At the server end, we utilize and improve Live555as video transmission server to transfer video whose format may be left and right, nine grids and Sixes and sevens. At the client end, we first do the needs analysis for the naked eyes3D video player and divide modules, the entire structure of player is divided into data acquisition layer, data pre-processing layer, audio and video decoding and display layer, user interface layer four modules. Then we use Android NDK to compile VLC source codes in order to transplant it to Android platform. We use histogram matching method of OpenCv to automatically determine the video format, reducing the trouble of manual judgment. We propose mask algorithm for pixels restructuring process, which can significantly improve operational efficiency and have the quality of portability. We propose adaptive distance algorithm to dynamically synthesize stereoscopic image when the distance from user’s eyes to device’s screen changes, which allows users to get a good viewing experience. We propose adaptive interpolation enlarged image algorithm to enlarge image before it is displayed in order to avoid distortion of the image. Moreover, we simplify UI of Android VLC to improve the operational efficiency of the program. Finally, we test the function, performance, availability, compatibility and reliability of the remote stereoscopic video play platform in order to find as many defects as possible and improve product quality. In summary, the remote stereoscopic video play platform designed in this paper completes the research mission well and some of the results have been applied in practice.
