At present, the performance of the computing power of smart phones and sensor equipped on smart phones continues to improve, making smart phones to help people do more things. The latest progress of smart phones technology led researchers to propose a new method for measuring spatial displacement--"the shift is the result". This allows users to have a more friendly and convenient way to obtain the spatial displacement data with no other measuring devices.Firstly, this paper overviewed the background, target, tasks and structure of the whole paper. Then it introduced the related technical background, Android development technology and acceleration sensors in smart phones in the second chapter, as well as the development trend of the sensor. Based on the analysis of the user’s needs and requirements of the system, the paper came up with the system level design from the perspective of demand, and modularized the functions. Then the paper gave case diagrams, flowcharts and class diagrams of each module, also posted some of the key code. Finally, it tested the whole system to verify the function and performance of the system, and made a summary and prediction.The best part of spatial displacement measurement software based on Android platform is that it takes full advantage of the hardware and software conditions of the Android platform, and tries to take advantage of current smart phones’accelerometer under the guidance of a physical theory. The tested system is able to measuring the distance in a certain error range.
