The fiber coil wound by circular multi-turn optical fiber coil is the component in IFOGto generate the SAGNAC phase difference with two opposite light waves. The quality of thefiber coil affects the performance of the FOG directly. So it is of great theoretical andpractical value to the winding process of fiber coil with the real-time monitoring.Aiming at the physical characteristics of the fiber and the winding characteristics of thefiber coil, from the actual monitoring process of the measurement accuracy and real-timerequirements, adopting a non-contact measurement of machine vision in real-time monitoringof optical fiber wound occurred during the climb wire gap and other issues, this articleprovides the basis for the motion control of winding devices.Work and results obtained to complete the thesis is as follows:(1)with the characteristics of the optical fiber winding and requirements of precise positioningof the optical fiber imaging position, the overall design of the monitoring system is completed,wherein, after the selection of cameras, lens, light sources, polarizers and installation devices,a reliable illumination system and image acquisition systems is set up, especially to clarify theimportance of the way of lighting for monitoring; the noise source and the characteristics ofdigital image is analyzed, a clear outline of the image is obtained by a Gaussian filter andenhanced fiter pretreatment for subsequent analysis.(2)A sub-pixel precision threshold segmentation algorithm is put forward, compared withordinary sub-pixel edge detection algorithm in the experiments dealing with similar featuresof the image and the optical fiber, this method is superior in positioning accuracy andprocessing speed.(3)A varieties of winding ways of and acquisition mode are analyzed. A quadrupole symmetryprinciple winding method is proposed for fiber coil winding for real-time defects monitoring algorithms and the monitoring algorithm is elaborated. The powerful HALCON integrateddevelopment environment is adopted for the entire monitoring software design.(4)In the experiment we analyze the way of the light, light intensity, illumination changewithin a day as well as a polarizer for image acquisition affect the fiber quality; and use themachine vision in non-contact manner on the optical fiber loop-carrying spindle runoutdetection. It demonstrates the effectiveness of the algorithm within the scope of themonitoring tiny beating four fiber winding wound status. The real-time of the system isanalyzed.In this topic we propose the monitoring algorithm with programming under theHALCON development environment for monitoring treatment of the real-time acquisition offour coiled fiber images. Experimental results show that this algorithm is applicable to thesubject wound fiber beating tiny state in the monitoring range.
