In recent decades, the development of the mobile communication technology is very rapid. In order to further meet the requirements of IMT-A, the3GPP organization started to standard the future advancement of long term evolution(LTE-Advanced) since March,2008. Meanwhile, software radio technology has also attracted more and more attention of the researcher. As one of the main development platform of software defined radio, general-purpose processors play an important role in signal processing of mobile communication systems.The target of CoMP is to improve the data throughput of the cell edge. It refers to plurality of transmission points which are separated in geography serve for one or more users, further improving the data rate of the cell edge users and the overall system performance. This thesis introduces the background and the key technologies of LTE and LTE-A. The basic concepts and different classification of CoMP are also included. The key point of this thesis is the designer of uplink CoMP reception system and the algorithm of receiver detection. Based on GPP platform, this thesis realize some relevant optimization in terms of systems and algorithms.In this thesis, the simulation of the uplink CoMP system based on GPP platform is done. And the results prove that the GPP platform can support real-time CoMP system and CoMP can significantly improve the throughput of the cell edge.
