Due to the co-channel deployment of the long term evolution-advanced (LTE-A) system, large inter-cell interference is brought out, greatly reducing the cell edge user experience. Hence, the standardization of coordinated multi-point transmission/reception technology (CoMP) was introduced in the LTE-A release10. As an effective method to suppress the inter-cell interference, improve the throughput of cell edge users and overall system performance, CoMP technique is one of the research hotspots in recent years. In this thesis, technical methods, reference signals and the application of CoMP are analysised. Specific work contents are shown as follows:As the high latency of the non-ideal backhaul brings some performance decline in the CoMP schemes, the thesis presents an adaptive scheduling scheme based on user’s classification to reduce the influence of backhaul delay on channel state information (CSI) feedback and scheduling decisions. In contrast with non-cooperated schemes and traditional CoMP schemes, the proposed scheme obtains robust performance gain in cell edge users’throughput and does best in satisfying users’service quality requirement when backhaul delay is up to20ms.To address the problem exsting in users’demodulation of data transmitted by cooperated cells, this thesis makes some research on the schemes of sending cell-specific reference signal (CRS) patterns of coordinated cells to users. And based on the classification of CoMP schemes and the configuration of the aperiodic CSI feedback set, a novel CRS patterns configuration and notifying scheme is proposed. Compared with existing methods, the proposed scheme calls forless overhead. In addition, this thesis provides a semi-static CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) and interference measurement resource (IMR) configuration method that greatly reduces users’IMR requirement as well as the signaling interaction and coordation delay among cells, improving the performance of the system. In consideration of the interference problem in the enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), this thesis studies on methods based on coordination to deal with the interference. An interference coordination scheme based CoMP dynamic point blanking technique is proposed to allivate the EPDCCH interference according to different conditions. The scheme is more flexible than almost blanking subframe scheme, and do better in improving the performance of edge users, ensuring the accuracy of the control signalings.
