D2D Communication (Device-to-Device Communication) refers to the technology that adjacent terminals can communicate through direct link, and it is an add-on component to LTE-A system. D2D Communication can enhance spectrum utilization, improve power efficiency and reduce the transmission delay, while it can also cause interference. Mode selection and resource allocation can Reduce interference and increase the performance of the D2D communication, so they become very popular among recent research. This paper focused on the effective mode selection and resource allocation of D2D communication in LTE-A, and designed corresponding mode selection and resource allocation schemes.Firstly, the background including origin, scenarios, advantages and fundamental functions was introduced, the concept and the existing schemes of mode selection and resource allocation of D2D communication was emphasized.Secondly, mode selection algorithm was studied. Artificial bee colony algorithm was used to get the solution on the basis of the system model. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the throughput and guarantee the quality of service. How the distance between user and base station or the distance between two users infect mode selection was analyzed. Finally, resource allocation algorithm was studied. Quantum particle swarm algorithm was used to get the solution of spectrum resource allocation algorithm and joint spectrum resource allocation and power control algorithm on the basis of the system model. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the throughput and guarantee the quality of service. When used power control, the performance is better, and the power efficiency is effectively improved.
