With the popularity of network applications and the opening of information resources, the requirement on accessing wireless broadband access grows fast. As a multiple hops network technology, wireless mesh network(WMN) has a mesh topology, which is different from the traditional wireless local network(WLAN). Terminal access the internet by multiple-hop wireless relay. WMN combines the advantages of wireless LAN and mobile Ad hoc network, which has the advantages of easy deployment and scalability, dynamic self-organization. WMN expands the coverage of a wireless network greatly, and not only reduces dependence on the wired network but also provides high network bandwidth. Wireless mesh networks has broad perspective in home and business broadband wireless network, campus and community-speed wireless access coverage, intelligent transportation wireless network, industrial automation network, emergency network, military wireless data transmission and temporary battlefield communications network. This paper focuses on the handoff technology for mobile communications network and wireless mesh network for emergency scenarios studied.Firstly, this paper analyzes the background and development status of wireless mesh networks using for the emergency scenarios. Through the analysis of the mesh network and the IEEE802.11S standard, a new network model is proposed. Network handoff technology is one of the most critical technologies in wireless mesh network. This paper mainly focuses on how to ensure seamless handoff when the multi-mode terminal moves in the WMN and mobile network.In this paper, telemedicine service platform of key technologies and systems in case of emergency is verified. In addition, this paper designs a new network combining mobile network and WMN based on802.11s, and proposes a low-latency, low-loss rate seamless handoff technology for mobile network and WMN. Finally, the completed work is summarized and some suggestions are proposed for further research.
