In the complicated ancient literature, traditional Chinese medicine ancient literature has aspecially historical position. It is an important foundation for the development of the theoryand technology of modern medicine and it is one of the highest applying frequency ancientliterature in modern science and technology. However, among the current study and utilizationof traditional Chinese medicine ancient literature retrieval system, the level of unifiedinformation management is not high for massive traditional Chinese medicine literature. Fortraditional Chinese medicine experts, there are some difficulties in the application of ancientliterature for teaching, research and clinical applications to some extent.According to the concrete project requirement of traditional Chinese medicine ancientliterature retrieval system of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this subjectuses Delphi programming tool, utilizes Excel tables to store each node of ontology to copewith the huge amount of data retrieval and achieves traditional Chinese medicine ancientliterature retrieval system based on ontology. Through data preprocessing, this subject extractskeywords from ontology, obtains word frequency using inverted index, checks ontologyintegrity, annotates the location of ontology nodes with coordinates and generates traditionalChinese medicinal literature sorting files chronologically and data tables. Therefore, it reducesthe data invoking time of retrieval system and improves retrieval speed. This subject achievesthe basic retrieval: according to one or more keywords entered by users, it uses inverted indexto achieve the query of keyword appearing frequency in traditional Chinese medicine literature.To click keywords can browse more information in accordance with the formation age ofliterature. It is convenient for users to browse literature content sequentially. It uses KMPalgorithm to achieve the keywords location retrieval in the content of literature. The ontologyretrieval: it uses the ontology hypernym and hyponym to achieve the herbs/prescriptionsretrieval. According to one or more of symptoms, this system can retrieve correspondingpathogenesis, sub-pathogenesis, herbs/prescriptions and sources and realize intelligent queryusing the node relation of ontology tree. For the convenience of ontology node and traditionalChinese medicine ancient literature adding, it designs the ontology management subsystem toimprove the sustainable use of retrieval system. Through the use of inverted index technology, it achieves a fast retrieval for2962traditional Chinese medicine coronary heart’s core keywords and up to more than100millionkeywords amount of700traditional Chinese medicine ancient literature meeting the searchspeed requirements of the search engines. Through the use of ontology technology, it gives theappropriate treatment herbs/prescriptions by entering symptoms and achieves intelligentretrieval results keyword retrievals can not achieve. The adding function of ontology node andtraditional Chinese medicine ancient literature meets the increasing improvement of traditionalChinese medicine ancient literature.
