Shaft and pipe parts are important machinery products, widely used in the actual work process with higher straightness requirements. According to the needs of actual production, this paper designed a complete laser online detection system embedded in CJA40-20M type automatic straightening press, especially for small diameter shaft and pipe parts, the main research on laser online detection system involves the laser sensor output characteristics theory of online detection system, structural design, control software and error analysis.In this paper,optical triangulation method has been applied to obtain the radius variation of small diameter shaft and pipe parts, and calculate the roundness using the least squares method. Taking into account the characteristics of small diameter shaft and pipe parts, study and analysis the influence of sampling points on the measurement results, using simulation experiments to determine the reasonable number of the sampling points, simplifying the sampling process and reduce costs. According to the principle and the actual needs of laser sensor, this paper design a fixture to set up the laser sensor, which can achieve fine-tuning effect to improve measurement environment. The control system has been designed with Siemens S7-1200PLC as the control core in online detection system, and edited the controlling and testing program to achieve automatic detection and fast calculation of sampling data. Some related theoretical studies and calculations about inclination error have been done=to reduce the influence to the measurement results. The output characteristics of the laser sensor and various factors that affect the measurement accuracy of the sensor had been analyzed, specific measures method had been put forward to reduce errors and improve the accuracy.This detection system after the running test, the detection accuracy is less than5um, which can meet the8-20mm small diameter shaft and pipe parts online non-contact detection task.
