With the extensive applications of Wireless Mesh Network (WMN), the QoS for WMN research has gradually become hot. Packet scheduling is an important measure for providing QoS guarantee and a key technique of QoS control mechanism. The research on packet scheduling algorithms of wired network has become very mature. Taking the characteristics of wireless channel into account, packet scheduling algorithms of wireless network have achieved some results, based on packet scheduling algorithms of wired network. Because of the multi-hop and distributed control in WMN, the conventional scheduling algorithms in wireless network cannot be directly applied to WMN environments. Based on the characteristics of WMN, an improved packet scheduling algorithms proposed in wireless network. The major work and innovations are shown as follows:(1) Introduced the Research Actuality of the WMN nowadays.(2) Listed the characters of the WMN, and describe the definition of the WMN.(3) Introduced the packet scheduling principles, processes, function, level status in network and the performance index of measure packet scheduling. And analyze several typical packet scheduling algorithms both in the cable network and the wireless network. Analyze several typical packet scheduling algorithms both in the cable network and the wireless network.(4) For the characteristics in wireless Mesh network, the classification of the. service packet scheduling mechanism is put forward. The classification of service packet scheduling mechanism distinguished this born of services and relay service in the process of the scheduling, Realize distinguishing the services in the scheduling process, thus provides the QoS guarantee for wireless Mesh network. Based on the study of classification of the service packet scheduling mechanism, I propose IT-tag technology to address Wireless Mesh Networks fundamentally QoS issues(5) Through the practical application of Mesh Networks in the WLAN network in the subway construction, we proved IT-tag algorithm can significantly improve network performance.
