With the development of computer network and information technology widely application, people have higher requirements for network performance and service quality. Because of the inherent flaws exists in IPv4network technology, IPv6network technology appeared. After many years of research and improvement, IPv6internet starting the commercial deployment gradually, Internet has formed IPv4and IPv6coexistence situation. Due to the current situation of the multiple ISP to provide services, the interconnection of different ISP and the unbalanced distribution of network information resource bring challenges to the user’s network applications experience. Campus networks are mostly used to access multiple different ISP’s network mode to improve access performance of the Internet, but this method faces the choice and load balance problem of the different low outlet link at the same time. How to realize the optimal selection of multi-outlets to improve the current network access performance becomes an urgent problem to be solved in IPv4/IPv6dual-stake network environment.This paper presents the research and analysis on the detection method, the process of detecting and network performance evaluation metrics, discusses the working principle of DNS name resolution and network performance detection methods based on ICMP, TCP, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, proposed one kind of optimal selection framework under dual-stack and multi-outlet network environment. That is, using improved optimization DNS domain name server as the core component, detecting the combination of the IP address list and outlet links access to the target website. Through the performance of the network delay, delay jitter, packet loss rate, DNS resolve time, connection establishment time, date transfer time and the date transmission rate parameters based on application layer for each combinations, after normalize and use this paper proposed integration of comprehensive performance metric algorithms to deal those metrics to choose the best IP address and outlet to target destination. Then, design and implementation this optimal IP address and outlet link optimal selection system by coding, and complete the visual management and results show functions at the same time in this system.Finally, by selecting a representative sample of websites, from Beijing Jiaotong University campus network different outlet links to access target sample website to obtain more than one network performance parameters, such as average connection time, average data transfer time and average data transfer speed. By comparison and analysis, conclude that the performance difference to access the same sample site through different ISP links. Then compared the DNS resolved time, connection time, data transmission time by using normal mode and selection mode to access sample websites in order to verify the improvement of network performance by optimal selection system to access Internet.
