With the development of the technology and economic market growth, the quality and quantity of tobacco market has improved dramatically. With the strong demand of tobacco, the traditional management technique can no longer satisfy the fast pace growth of the tobacco market. The modern management strategy must make use of the modern technology technique together with information technology and network. The aim is to improve the efficiency over human and material resource and eventually achieve the goal of fast, efficient and safe management. Therefore the tobacco marketing management will require the support of the information management in order to achieve above goals.The aim of this thesis is to perform research within Shanxi Tobacco Organization using the modern information technology and tobacco management platform guarded by the standardized process. The model which can be adopted to suit the need of Shanxi Tobacco Company information management has been explored based on the current management system, business process model as well as the future goal of the company. This thesis will, first, understand the current technology in the tobacco market via internal research and internet survey as initial step. Then focusing on the areas of research regarding ability for execution, the demand management, system requirement and risk analysis while analyzing the system requirement which is based on the enhanced research theory. Last but not least, the business process and data flow will be created and formalized after the previous two steps. This will include the detailed component definition and categorization, using top down approach to present detailed subcomponents.In addition, this thesis is aiming to clearly identigy the overall aim, framework, software requiment and solution. The risk has been assessed with consideration of detailed information during system design in order to provide baseline for system integration, version control and future releases and bug fix. Overall the ability to manage inventory as well as improving information management capability and work efficiency in tobacco industry can be improved by design and implement the Shanxi Tobacco Inventory Management System.
