The processing capacity, storage capacity and energy resources of wireless sensor nodes in thenetwork are limited, and they make the network’s topological structure and the energy’s effectiveuse as a bottleneck of the development of the wireless sensor network. Therefore, it is a researchfocus on how to get the proper network’s topological structure and reduce the energy consumption.There still exist many problems in the clustering scheme of current wireless sensor network.This thesis aims to carry out the research of the clustering in the topological structure, the evennesswithin the clustering and the lifecycle of the whole network; a new clusteringscheme HEED-F(Hybrid of Energy-Efficient Distributed Clustering Approach-Fuzzy) is putforward based on the original HEED.HEED Fuzzy has several improvements as follows:(1) Duringthe clustering, considering the three factors the residual energy, the neighbor node number and theaverage distance of the cluster, we employ the fuzzy logic control theory to construct a fuzzy logiccontrol model, measure the communication cost of nodes with the model and take thecommunication cost as the sub-parameter to select the cluster head.(2) The optimization of theinner clusters we optimize each sub-cluster head after clustering and choose one cluster head asthe final cluster head that can communicate with all the nodes within its cluster and produce theminimum cost.(3) The multi-level clustering we cluster the cluster heads for the second time andget the secondary cluster heads which will find its cover dynamically with the energy maximalcriterion in a limited radios, other cluster heads send the data to the cover by multi-hop orsingle-hop, and cover acts as the final secondary cluster head sending data to sink node. In this way,not only the energy consumption is lowered but also further expanding the lifecycle of network.Finally, make the simulated analysis of the HEED-F in the environment of MATLAB. Theoutcome shows that HEED-F can result in a better evenness within the cluster and longer lifecycle.
