With the development of computer network technology and the growth of multimedia servicedata, streaming media transmission technology develop rapidly and is widely used. The emergenceof wireless mobile smart devices put forward new requirements to the transport technology ofreal-time streaming media in the wireless network. Therefore, study of streaming media transporttechnology in the wireless network and its implementation has the significant value.Effect of packet loss, jitter and delay on streaming media transmission quality is studied, thehardware structure of embedded video terminal and streaming media transport software componentare analyzed, and embedded streaming media transport software modules are classified. Thehardware device drivers are analyzed and implemented, video and audio capture and playbackprogram are designed and implemented. The video and audio codec standards are selected to reducethe data amount of streaming media, in order to reduce the wireless network transmissionbandwidth requirements and packet loss rate, so that to reduce the influence of packet loss onstreaming media playback quality. The ability of streaming media transport is added to Live555open source project to improve its performance. Send buffer is added to streaming media server toreduce the coupling degree between the streaming media data capture and transport. Receive bufferis added to streaming media client to improve the jitter tolerance. Streaming media transportprogram is used to integrate the streaming media server and client, and data sharing method amongmodules is optimized to reduce the processing time, in order to reduce the end-to-end streamingmedia transport delay.The streaming media transport software on embedded video terminal is tested. The test resultsshow that the streaming media transport software on embedded video terminal works well, audioand video capture, and transport and playback functions of the embedded video terminal arecorrectly implemented.
