Visible light communication (VLC) is a new technology that intergrates communication andillumination. It has the potential to replace the traditional radio communication in some specialapplication scenarios. The need of indoor wireless location is growing up in recent years. Theapplication of indoor VLC on wireless positioning technology has attracted the attention ofresearchers. This thesis study the indoor VLC positioning technology based on Image sensor andRSSI.This thesis manly gives some basic research on the main technology such as LED array’s layout,channel model and modulation characteristics. VLC system has image and non-image two kinds ofreceiving module, and we proposed indoor VLC positioning technology scheme based on ImageSensor and indoor VLC positioning technology based on RSSI. After that, grid layout of LEDbeacon nodes on the influence of indoor positioning accuracy was discussed. The main contents arepresented as follows.Firstly, set up indoor visible light communication model. Simulate the received optical power,the distribution of illuminance and SNR. The minimum illuminance is321lx, the maximum is1085lx. The sufficient illuminance, is300to1500lx by ISO, is obtained in all the places of the room.The minimum SNR is12dB and the maximum SNR is22dB meet the basic requirement ofcommunication (13.6dB).Secondly, based on the study of optical wireless channel, We analysis localization algorithm inindoor VLC positioning system based on Image Sensor. Simulation results showed that when thepixels in one line is3000, the positioning error less than8cm. And in the system based on RSSI, thepositioning error less than7cm when the variable factor n=0.6626.Indoor VLC positioningtechnology has many superiority in positioning precision, algorithm complexity and the cost oflocalization compare with other traditional RF communication positioning technology.Finally, proposed the grid layout of LED beacon nodes on the influence of indoor positioningaccuracy. Put forward a new cellular model of the grid layout based on equilateral triangle cell.Analysis result show that the property improved30%in the beacon nodes correctly selection.
