Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have wide application prospects. It can not only enhance thecombat and defensive capabilities of the troops in the military fields, but also perceive thesurroundings in civil context applications. Hence, it attracts great interests and concerns in manycountries. In WSNs, different MAC access mechanisms and routing algorithms have significantimpacts on the performance of the whole network. Therefore, the researches on these areas in thisthesis have important theoretical significance and application values. At first, WSNs are briefly introduced in this thesis. Then three aspects are mainly studied.(1) Based on IEEE802.15.4MAC access mechanism, an energy harvesting time-slotted CSMA/CAanalysis model using markov model is proposed. Simulations are conducted to analyze the impactof duty ratio and energy harvesting on throughput and energy consumption, and simulation resultsshow that network throughput and energy consumption increase with the increase of duty ratio andenergy harvesting.(2) Routing algorithms of wireless sensor network are studied. Combined withcognitive radio technology, a hybrid spectrum sharing model of cognitive wireless sensor network ispresented. And a dynamic spectrum allocation and collaborative routing algorithm is proposed toimprove the spectrum efficiency and routing efficiency. The feasibility of the algorithm is verifiedby the simulation, the results show the superiority of the proposed algorithm compared to the threetraditional algorithms.(3) A software management platform of WSN is designed. The platform canvisually monitor and process the data collected by sensors, such as temperature, gas and lightintensity. Experiment results indicate that this platform implements the effective monitoring ofsensor network status and analyzes collected data. Finally, conclusions are given and also the thenext work of our research is presented.
