With the rapid development of economy in our country, more and more peoplestep into the ranks that becoming car owners in recent years. Even though the increaseof cars provides a lot of convenience for people to travel, people’s safety awareness isrelatively weak and road safety management is backward. Hence, China is facing avery serious traffic safety problem. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an intelligentintegrated network system in which the networking basis is wireless communicationtechnology. The IoV is aimed at improving people’s travel efficiency and trafficconditions, expanding the form of mobile information exchange. Therefore, theconstruction of the IoV has great significance for people to travel. The fast moving ofvehicle node in the IoV can cause frequent interruptions of communication linkbetween vehicles, and the message can not be transmitted by the means of theend-to-end style. In this way, the "storage-carry-forward" model is used to transmit amessage in the IoV. The storage space of vehicle node is limited, when the noderesources are depleted. Thus, it is difficult to avoid the occurrence of networkcongestion. This thesis has done the following research on the network congestion ofthe IoV:Firstly, based on the study of IoV system, this thesis presented the architectureand network architecture of IoV.Secondly, the thesis proposed a congestion control strategy based on the messagepriority. This strategy can discard and transfer message to neighbor vehicle nodes atthe same time according to priority. The thesis utilized iVIS-SIM integrated simulationplatform to perform simulation in order to verify the performance of the proposedcongestion control strategy. The simulation platform can put motion model of vehiclenodes of the traffic simulator in the network emulator correspondently, so that it can bebetter combined with the actual situation. Though the analysis of the simulation results,the congestion control strategy proposed in this thesis can achieve good performance inthree aspects such as delivery ratio of message, average delay and overhead.Finally, this thesis designed the congestion control module and it’s electric circuitbased on intelligent vehicle terminal, aiming at the network congestion in the IoV. And the simulation tests for congestion control module of IoV were carried out.Experimental results show that the congestion control module and the proposedcongestion control strategy of this thesis in resolving network congestion problems inthe IoV is feasible.
