The UWB antenna is an important constituent elements of UWB system, the design of UWBantennas with good performances is an important topic in the field of antenna research now.This thesis designs UWB plane antennas fed by co-planar waveguide(CPW). In order to avoidinterference of narrow band system, Which are WLAN(5.15~5.825GHz) and the downlinkfrequency band of X-band satellite syetem(7.25~7.75GHz), with the slot structures, the UWBantennas with the band-notch characteristic are achieved. The equivalent circuit model of theband-notch structure is showed in this thesis, and the principle analyzed too. The size of UWBantennas fed by CPW is very small. They can be integrated with other microwave deviceseasily,and it is convenient to be used in wireless communication system with high speed.Two different UWB antennas are proposed in the thesis,which have different dielectricsubstrate. The principle expanding band of monopole antennas is showed in the thesis. Theinfluence on antenna performance of different structure parameters is got and the results simulatedare analyzed. Two different UWB antennas are designed in the thesis, which are loaded the differentslot units. The principle of band-notch characteristic is showed too. Get the influence of differentstructure parameters of the slot units and analyze the results simulated.The antennas designed in this thesis are processing. Then measure the different performanceparameters such as return loss, peak gain, co-polar and cross-polar etc of UWB antennasdesigned,analyze the results and verify the correctness of the design.Four UWB antennas are designed in this thesis, they are all miniaturized in the size. There aretwo UWB antennas using the sample slot structure loaded to get the band-notch characteristic. Theresults measured are close to the results simulated. Therefore, the research achievements in thisthesis have certain practical value.
