With the rapid development of mobile telecommunication technology, the number of users is becoming larger and the business type is getting more various. ITU-R demands the fourth generation wireless communication system to meet higher performance requirements based on the existing limited frequency resource. In order to meet the needs of the IMT-Advanced,3GPP develops a series of technology including carrier aggregation, relaying and coordinated multiple points and so on. Carrier aggregation has the ability to make a focus utilization of fragmentary frequency resources to extend the system bandwidth. Carrier aggregation can simultaneously keep a backward compatibility with LTE system and meet the high rate transmission requirements of the next generation of telecommunication system. All of these characters can promote the commercial process of the LTE-Advanced system. On the basis of the introduction of LTE-Advanced system and its several key technologies, we give some detailed information about carrier aggregation including the classification, the scheme of data aggregation, the deployment scenarios and the control signaling design. Then based on the detailed introduction of the treatment scheme and specific modules we give the performance evaluation of PUCCH in the carrier aggregation scenario. For the reason that LTE-Advanced system adopted the data aggregation scheme on MAC layer, this article makes researches about mapping mechanism between the component carrier and the HARQ process. In the performance evaluation of the uplink channels of carrier aggregation scenario, for PUCCH we give a fast decoding method and the performance curve for dual RM code in PUCCH format3. Finally based on the traditional HARQ process mapping schemes, we give an improved scheme which can reduce the signaling overload at the expenses of performance and finally we prove its superiority through performance simulation.
