In recent years, with the rapid development of network technology, Internet based on TCP/IP protocol has penetrated into all fields of social life, and becomes the social infrastructure. The stability and reliability of the Internet has a profound impact on economy, military, commercial, and other fields. Thus Network performance monitoring has been very important. With the improving complexity of the network, network management is becoming more and more difficult; network measurement system on a single machine is overwhelmed. Therefore, network measurement system is being advancing toward distribution; the analysis and store of mass measurement data also make the necessity of cloud computing.At present, the booming developing of Internet applications put up the requirements of system fusion. At the same time, network measurement is also developed gradually from the traditional user management to automatic software management and virtualization monitoring. When distributed network measurement system is deployed to actual network environment, it will face network congestion, abnormal connection disconnection, network attacks and other problems. The function enhancement and performance optimization of cloud monitoring platform is of great significance.In this project, open API of cloud monitoring platform was finished; management module of real-time measurement probe status has been added to the platform. All the above functions will provide support to network management software or virtualization network monitoring module. By providing efficient measurement data querying interface, adding environment cleaning module after closure of the platform, optimizing file monitoring module in data analyzer, adding sticky packet parsing module, providing MD5authentication when measurement probes registering to the cloud monitoring platform, the robustness, flexibility, security of the platform have been improved.In this paper, technical background of function enhancement and performance optimization on the cloud monitoring platform was firstly introduced, including the key technology and functions of each module in distributed network measurement system. Secondly, development trend of network applications and problems brought by the actual network environment was taken into consideration; the function and performance limitations of cloud monitoring platform was analyzed as a sequence. Finally, based on the limitations, function enhancement and performance optimization was conducted, including the design, implementation and testing. As is proved by the test result, the new modules, running stably, can solve the limitation problem of the cloud monitoring platform.
