With the development of the Internet of things, such as temperature and humidity sensors, radio frequency identification (RFID) devices, infrared sensors and other information sensing equipment will produce large amounts of data. Complex event processing is a technology which can handle large amounts of data from these sensing devices in real time, through filtering, grouping and aggregation, it can discover more meaningful events for the users among large amounts of data.Most of the researches on complex event processing are not related to the definition of events, but only present a framework for complex event processing or their definitions of events cannot distinguish two data from sensing devices.This paper will focus on the research and implementation of complex event processing mechanism of the Internet of things. It mainly involves the following work:First of all, Study the principle of the rule engine, have a further understanding of Rete algorithmThen, work out a complex event processing model architecture. The data from sensing devices is sent to the system based on the architecture. The system can discover more meaningful events for the users among high-volume continuous sensing data.Next, propose a definition of events in complex event processing. Most of the research on complex event processing at home and abroad is based on RFID, but the Internet of things promise a world of networked and interconnected devices. Any object can access the Internet, not just object that can access the network through the RFID. Many definitions of events in some related papers on complex event processing are dependent on the RFID, so this paper puts forward a definition of events in complex event processing, this definition can describe any data from perception equipment and more meaningful events for the users.Finally, users can query all levels of the events in the system. The events include atomic events and complex events. In order to query all levels of the events, implement a complex event processing system. The system is well verified the proposed definition of atomic events and complex events.
