As WCDMA is being more and more widely used in worldwide, the number of its users and terminals is rising. Terminal test technology provides basis for terminals’development and production. It becomes the key to maintain the stable development of the entire WCDMA industry at high speed.This thesis presents the work which the author has accomplished in the project of "WCDMA terminal test set". The achievement of this project will fill the gap (relatively) in the domestic instrument industry in WCDMA field and promote the development of Chinese WCDMA industry chain. The author’s work is to implement the Physical Layer (L1) of the downlink transmitter of the test set’s software. With analysis, designing, programming and debugging works, the object has been achieved. This achievement makes the communication between test set and terminal possible.Firstly, this thesis describes the background of WCDMA system and test set, the selection basis of the thesis and the main work.Then the thesis illustrates the processing of L1of the downlink transmitter, the framework of test set and DSP implementation environment. The main part of this thesis is to describe the overall framework and the implementation of each functional module of L1of the downlink transmitter after analyzing DSP environment and the requirements from test set in detail. In the end, this thesis makes a conlusion and describes the prospect of WCDMA terminal test set.The content of the paper has been applied in WCDMA test set. Up to now, the tester has completed testing with commercial terminal successfully. It will be put into the market after getting certificated.
