Recently, with the rapid development of modern power electronic technology and thepopularity of power electronic devices, harmonic pollution leads to serious consequences inpower network. With a sharp increase power load and growth of nonlinear load capacity in thedevelopment of modern power electronic technology, leading to a series of adverse effects,such as distortion waveforms of grid voltage and current, voltage fluctuations and flicker.APF can achieve the function of harmonic suppression and reactive power compensation, so itplays an indispensable role in power system of harmonic governance.This paper mainly does the study on shunt active power filter in three-phase three-wiresystem. At first, it introduces the basic principle, sort, structure type and main circuit topologyof active power filter. And then presents the key technologies, including detect methods ofharmonic currents and control methods. The ip-iqis used as the detect method of harmoniccurrents in this paper, which is based on the theory of instantaneous reactive power. Therefore,this paper focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of various control methods based onshunt APF, including hysteresis control, space vector hysteresis control, PI control andrepetitive control. On this basis, we propose a strategy of complex control, which acombination between PI controller and repetitive controller, and do a relevant design to thecontroller, such as the establishment of mathematical model, the parameters and so on. Lastbut not least, do simulation in the platform of Matlab/Simulink, it turns out that this controlstrategy being feasibility and effectiveness.
