Internet was first used in military, defense, which has been extended toacademic research and education, and carring communications, content and paymentfunctions. The business model quickly penetrates into people’s lives. As networkbecomes an important part of life, network security has become one of the keyissues for concern the industry of network technology. On the other hand, networkoperators, Internet service providers and Internet service providers increasingly needa safe and efficient operation network. Deep packet inspection (DPI: Deep PacketInspection) with in-depth analysis of network packets, traffic management, security,and network analysis, can be further deep packet inspection of network packetcontent layer.The paper presents the design and implementation of DPI system based onATCA architecture. The system takes advantage of the open architecture of theATCA switch blades, blade computing, network processor blades, storage bladesand ATCA chassis, building a high-performance deep packet inspection system.Especially, on the data processing plane, multi-core network processor is introducedfor DPI, with protocol and security coprocessor, the performance DPI systems willsignificantly been enhanced. Meanwhile, ATCA systems, through the integration ofcomputing blades, storage blades, help to provide in-depth analysis of the data.The system has the following three advantages:(1) a high-throughput,scalable deep packet inspection system;(2) the use of network packet analysis andprocessing of multi-core network processor;(3) achieving a network packet capture,analysis, integration equipment store.
