A Repeater is an important part of the wireless systems of mobile network. It can covermobile base stations which are with poor signals, expand and strengthen the coverage areaand intensity of mobile network. The intensity of the coverage of mobile network greatlydepends on the application of Repeater monitoring system, by which date of operationsituation of each monitoring sites can be collected. Therefore, it is of great significance andvalue to study the application of Repeater monitoring system. But now in our country mostmanufacturers of Repeater equipments are small in size, and with a low level in technologyto produce equipments. It is only from the subscribers’ feedback information can we knowthe real running situation after the failure of Repeater equipments. The non-networkmonitoring and building of Repeater equipments in deep signal coverage areas such asindoors and remote mountainous regions etc. lead to the inefficiency in problem solving.Without monitoring, it will be difficult to quickly solve problems of Repeater equipmentsand it will certainly affect the quality of network communication and network indicators.In this case, it is necessary to build and put a monitoring system in use. According tothe application conditions of Repeaters in mobile and wireless network of domestic telecomoperators, the distribution characteristics of network monitoring sites of Repeaters (such ascharacteristics of none telecom cable transmission, wide range, long distance, large quantity,and decentralization etc.), and the application and development of modern mobile andwireless communication technology, this paper puts forward a wireless data collectionscheme which is on the basis of GSM Texts to transmit and control data of networkmanagement remotely. GSM mobile and wireless network has its advantage in perfection,wide coverage, and stable running. According to the trend of application and development ofwireless communication technology, this paper proposes a new scheme for a remote andwireless data acquisition, monitoring the implementation of Repeater station by using GSMShort Message Service, that is to use data transmission of Short Message Service to remotelycollect data of network management. Low cost is the biggest advantage, embodied in lowinvestment and construction cost, low operation cost, low maintenance cost of equipment.The research on using SMS to collect data automatically and achieve network monitoringhas certain innovation and practical value. This paper mainly studies the model of GSM Texts transmission in wireless network,and then realize the remote data transmission of operation data of equipments of wirelessRepeater stations. A Repeater monitoring system provides a reliable basis for a bettermaintenance to the Repeater equipments. This system has the advantage of low cost: lowcomprehensive cost, low reinvestment cost, low equipment cost, low running cost, and lowmaintenance cost. This paper makes an analysis to the principle of transmission of GSMShort Message in mobile and wireless network, solves problems of remote real-time datatransmission in the application of Repeater stations, realizes automatic data acquisition andtransmission for Repeater station, and a better maintenance and optimization to the networkof Repeater stations.The main work of this paper focuses on the following aspects:1. Communications between central computers in monitoring center and SMS module:monitoring center realizes communication with lower computer module by SMS module soas to achieve the receiving of monitoring data and sending of monitoring command.2. MCU controls SMS module to receive and send short messages. The field data istransmitted to SMS module of the host computer, and receives the monitoring commandssent by host computer.3. The field data acquisition system: data of power voltage and transmitting power isrealized by MCU system, and stored in a data storage area according to a certain format,available for data transmission.4.Monitoring software design: reflecting the working process of the system through asimple and intuitive man-machine interface, it is convenient for the staff to carry out variousoperations.
